Occasionally we all work on projects that have low budgets.  Perhaps it’s a pro-bono client, or you’re creating a prototype for a startup idea. Bottom line… You have no money to pay royalties for clip-art, nothing in the budget for buying photos either. You still need quality graphics and icons even if you don’t have an artist on working on the project.

There’s plenty of sites on the Internet that claim they have free stuff.  Type ‘free icons’ into a search engine and see how many questionable sites show up in the list.

Free Icons

Here’s a couple sites that have nice quality free icons.

Silk Icons:

There are plenty of free SVG artworks available and plenty of converters which will convert them to xaml (eg inkscape -http://www.inkscape.org)
