Before you can view a webpage with an embedded Silverlight control you need to have a small runtime installed on your computer. Go view the samples on the Silverlight site. The Silverlight runtime will be installed automatically.
If you want to author a Silverlight page you need to install the Silverlight SDK.

I attended your silverlight session in Orlando earlier this month and enjoyed it very much. I’ve been trying to install silverlight 2.0 so I can use it with the version of Studio we got at the conference. I get an error when trying to use the silverlight template. Is this a common issue with the new Beta? Is there a best way to install the 2.0 SDK? Thanks.
